If you change your mind after hitting the delete button, don’t worry – WhatsApp lets you undo ‘Delete  for Me’ and keep your data safe!

Tap on Account

When you open the WhatsApp application, you will see a few different options. Tap on the “Account” option. This is where you will find a wide range of account settings, including the ability to delete your account. However, if you have accidentally tapped “Delete for Me” instead of something else, don’t worry – WhatsApp lets you undo ‘Delete for Me’. Just tap “Account” and you can safely recover your deleted data and continue using your account as normal. When tapping the “Account” tab again after hitting the Delete button, you’ll see an additional menu option labeled “Undo Deletion”. This menu gives users the opportunity to cancel any deletions that were made within the last 30 days. Once selected, all messages that were previously deleted are restored in their entirety.  It’s worth noting that this feature also works when deleting messages within group chats. If you hit that Delete button by accident, you’re able to quickly regain access to any messages that were lost without having to bug anyone about it.  This is especially helpful if any important messages were mistakenly deleted and need to be recovered. It saves time in having to type up those same conversations again or trying to remember exactly what was said before the accident occurred. WhatsApp lets you undo ‘Delete for Me’ so you can get back on track right away.
